call me crazy, but this might turn out to be the next big technique for fighting spam, don't you think? i mean . . . just imagine, on an average day, i receive 200 such crappy mails. (i'm sure most of you are jealous of me right now. "just 200?? lucky devil!!" is what you're thinking, right?). if each of us vows to spare a couple minutes each day and randomly send meaningless replies to 1% of the mails we receive, the spamming world is in for a reallllll big shock!!

another cool way to fight these guys would be to turn them onto each other. i've deliberately included the spammer's id here so that the "automated email id collectors" used by other (high class) spammers that randomly search for email ids, end up collecting this one and start spamming him. howzzat?

i know i know, it's absolutely useless because these ids are either a) non-existent or b) used *only* to *send* mails and no one looks into their inboxes.

but hey, i feel like i've discovered a whole new way of wasting time, and am even deriving an unknown kinda pleasure out of it. scoooooooore!!

oh by the way, if any of you is interested in taking to spamming, make sure you learn the basics properly. earn a degree by enrolling into spam university

That's a terrible idea. When spammers are not spending as much time and energy or even a millionth of it as you plan to, where is the efficiency or even a considerable result? If it were legal you are far better off trying a DoS attack. (As a CS guy, that's what I'd expect you to come up with.) As a trafe-off here is what one company has come up with to aggressively spam the spammer.

Yep I know it's a terrible idea. That's what I admitted in the post too. I actually sent replies to a spammer and I found it amusing. :)
